A great time of year.

A few that I’ve sorted from the last couple of days. The weather has been quite spring like, and nature is giving us some treasures to look at.

.
Primrose in bloom, and now Cowslip, coming to join the show.
.

.

Clumps of Violets growing under trees that are bursting with blossom.
.
.

.

And birds singing everywhere. Willow Warbler and Wren.
.
.
.

My first Barn Owl shot. I think we were both surprised to see each other this particular morning. I aim to get better pictures, now I know where to find him.

.
.

.

I know where to find these; a Yellow Wagtail and a Pied Wagtail. The white stuff isn’t snow; it’s foam from the edge of a lake.
.
.
.

Getting the ‘once over’ from a Mistle Thrush.
.
.

And last one for now,
.
.

a Redshank. One of a few I managed from a rewarding session in his company.
.
.

Enjoy your day, whatever you have planned or unplanned.
.
.

I’ve got a hospital appointment later. The ‘Treadmill’. Hopefully this will explain why I still get a few chest pains.

  1. Good luck at the hospital, you should be fine, your lucky week after dropping on a barn owl. You won't be missing much today if the weather is like ours fog now rain later.

  2. Cheers Adrian.
The weather here looks like it's going to be another good one. Blue, cloudless skies.
Nothing like rubbing it in lol

  3. Some great shots. You are more advanced than we are: primroses just come into bloom but hardly any blossom yet. And you are so lucky to get a shot of the barn owl. We had a pair visiting our barn during the winter but I haven't seen them in daylight hours for many years.

Hope your hospital appointment goes well. :-)

  4. Gosh - that's early for the Willow Warbler isn't it? We wouldn't expect them here for a month yet. (Great shots - but that goes without saying.)

  5. Thats a great Redshank shot Keith and the Yellow Wag again, which I still haven't seen as yet this spring. I am seeing similar flowers and birds to you now. I haven't had the same luck with the Barn Owl though thats a good shot for your first. They are not easy because of the light mainly. They are creatures of habit though and tend to hunt in the same areas in the early evening.

Thanks for your comment Kerry. Lots of the trees here are starting to get their leaves to unfurl now. Amazing the changes with a few sunny days.
The Barn Owl was a very lucky shot :)

I think the Willow Warbler’s about average for here John. Probably a bit milder?
    Thanks for your comment.

Thanks Roy. A real stroke of luck with the owl; couldn’t believe it.

Dar, thank you for your comment. Enjoy your weekend too.

Thanks Shelley. I’m looking forward to the weekend. Supposed to be good weather :)

  20. Think springwatch should take up residence down your neck of the woods with all the goodies on show. Love all the woodland flowers but your owl definately steals the show. Quick question, do you watch springwatch and if you do Oddie or Peckham?

  21. Thank you Pescalune. I still need to get a decent shot of one.

    Thanks Trevor.
    Should get my results Monday.

Dominic, thank you for your comment.

    Thanks Hillary.
Saw the Barn Owl this morning with his mate, but pictures not too good. Need to sort them out yet.

Thank you Anna. I always feel better when I'm out with the camera ;)

    Debbie, thanks for your comment.
Only watched springwatch a few times online; I don't have a telly. Not very impressed with it at all. Not a fan of Oddie, don't like Packham, and the Kate bird is hopeless. lol
