A mix for the weekend

A random selection. A few were from a couple of days out with Trevor, when we went butterfly hunting; and the others from this morning round my local lake.

Red Admiral

White Admiral

A very tatty looking one, but a first for me.

Silver-washed Fritillary

Another tatty one; and again, a first for me.

Speckled Wood

Migrant Hawker

and from this morning, at the local

 Great Crested Grebe

Black-headed Gull

Chiffchaff ......  a young one.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't forget to put some water out for the birds.
Have a great weekend.
  2. That first one, of the Red Admiral butterfly, is just perfect. Such brilliant colors on the butterfly.
  3. White Admiral, I have seen only 1, that was 5 years ago it was lying on the floor, which is quite daft, it was going to run over it with my "Tramper". Great shots though.
  8. Those butterflies are beautiful, though it looks like they've seen some weather. I tried photographing dragonflies during my last vacation and gained new admiration for people who do it well. Good job!
  11. A lovely selection Keith. You and Trevor have been having fun. Coincidentally, both of your firsts were also firsts for me a few weeks ago! We seem to be mirroring each other with butterfly sightings this year :-)
