My first picture of 2013

I'm still trying

  1. Hey what a wonderful start in this New Year dear Keith !! A great capture of this awesome bird :)

  2. Wow - how do you improve on that as a starter for the new year.... nice one, Keith :)

  3. Nice one Keith!...a good start to the year...[;o)

  4. Exquisite, Keith. Kingfishers are having a difficult time up here, with all the muddy, swollen rivers...

  5. Lovely pic of the elusive Kingfisher :-) I have'nt managed to get a half decent photo of one yet !!!
I was amazed the other day when walking the dogs . Saw 11 Egrets in the flooded field . Then someone said they saw 12 together !! Shame they are so skittish as they fly away when they see you .
Happy new year to you . May you capture more cracking bird photos :-)

  6. That's lovely Keith! It must be the closest you have managed so far. I would be happy just to see one, I haven't for years!

  7. Thank you Elizabeth :-)

Thanks Pescalune. I'm hoping this year gets me the picture of this bird I really want. :-)

    Thanks Tricia. :-)

Cheers Trevor. Came out better than I thought it would. lol

Thanks Phil. Lovely birds. A pair that were nesting last year got flooded out when water rose at the local lake. I hope they have more success this year.

Thanks Mark. I've been trying a few years to get a decent shot of one of these. Getting there. All the best for the new year. Have to meet up again soon.

Thanks Jan. Yea, getting closer lol

    Thank you Bob :-)

  8. Thanks Theresa. Yea, they're lovely birds.

  9. Brilliant Keith - gets better every time.

  10. I'm trying too...very trying.
You have almost cracked it. I'd be like a dog with two tails if i'd got this close to one.

  11. A nice first shot for the year Keith well done

  12. Keith, and it's a good one!
A rather stern looking fellow! "leave me alone or I'll poke you in the eye!"

  13. Thanks John. Getting there.

    Cheers Adrian. Yea, almost :-)

    Thank you Bob.

    Thanks dAwN :-)

    Thank you Robin.

  22. Thanks Doug. It's a bird that has eluded me for a few years, always just too far for a decent shot. Maybe this year .....
